Sara Beth and Seth: 8 Months

Measurements and Sizes:
We have been fighting some sickness in our house the past few days, so I have their weights from the doctor. The rest of their measurements we will get at their 9 month check up.

Sara Beth:
Weight - 16 lb 14 oz

Seth:
Weight - 23 lb 8 oz

Sara Beth is wearing mostly 6-9 month clothing with a few 9-12 month and some 3-6 month still, although we are starting to pack most of those up. She still wears size 2 diapers during the day and size 3 diapers at night, but I am done buying size 2 diapers so after this box, she will move up.

Seth is now wearing 12 month clothes and some 12-18 months! It seems like I have to pack up clothes from his closet daily. He still wears size 4 diapers during the day and size 5 diapers at night.

Sleeping and Eating:
They are doing pretty good with our new schedule! They take 2 fairly long naps (an hour or an hour and a half), one in the morning and one right after lunch, and then they usually take one shorter nap (20 or 30 minutes) in the evening. They go to bed most nights around 7 although some times it is a bit later, and they usually get up around 6:30.

This month we have mostly introduced "solid" foods: avocado, steamed apples, oranges, bananas, steamed carrots, and pineapple. We've also started giving them puffs when we are out at restaurants... they make the biggest messes but are so entertained by them! They each take 4-5 bottles per day with 7-8 ounces per bottle. Most days, they eat 2 meals, one mid-morning and the other mid-evening. They have been much better about eating in their high chairs or bumbo seats with the trays this month, although I still feed them in their boppys some because they are much cleaner that way.

Firsts This Month:
For foods, they had avocado on January 25, steamed apples on January 28, banana bites on January 29, oranges on January 30, steamed carrots on January 31, and pineapples on February 7. They had their six-month pictures taken (about a month late because of weather) on January 17, and then Sara Beth was diagnosed with her first ear infection in her right ear the next day on January 18. Seth's two teeth on the top sides came in on January 18, giving him six teeth in all. Sara Beth followed behind when the two teeth on the top middle sides came in on January 29 and then the two in the top middle came in on February 7, giving her six teeth total as well. One of our craziest milestones yet happened on February 10 when Seth started crawling! That boy will do anything to get his hands on an iPhone or a remote. Our lives instantly became more hectic. They celebrated their first Valentine's Day with many sweet valentines from friends and family. It was a great month!

Mommy's Notes:

It seems entirely too cliche to say this, but each month gets better than the month before! The two of you make me smile and laugh so much each day. We have so many sweet moments together, and sometimes, I wish we had a camera recording us constantly so we had documentation of all the funny things you do to keep us entertained. Telling people that you are 8 months old seems crazy. We've seen a lot of newborns out lately, and I just can't believe how much you've grown up since those days. I love you both more than you will ever know!
