We were super excited to celebrate Arkansas playing in the Liberty Bowl at every chance we got! The events for us started at the Conference USA Awards Luncheon held at the Hilton Memphis on December 31st. We listened to the coaches, chancellors, and athletic directors from both Arkansas and East Carolina speak while we ate lunch and also saw a slide show with highlights from both football seasons.
Quick pic before we left for the luncheon.
On the night of December 31st (New Year's Eve), there was a pep rally in the amphitheater on Beale that we could hear from our hotel room, so of course we had to go down to see it!
It was crowded, but you can see the cheerleaders!
The Arkansas Band
All the Arkansas fans! (plus Katherine, who is a Tennessee fan, but we forgive her)
On January 1st, there was a tailgate party at Alfred's on Beale that was rented out by the Alumni Association that we attended to watch the Liberty Bowl Parade down Beale Street and eat some dinner.

With the fabulous zoom lens on my new camera, look who we found on the street across from us!
They see us!

Seth and I left when the parade was over to get ready for the Liberty Bowl Presidents Gala at the Peabody. We first went to the AutoZone Cocktail Party in the Skyway before heading down to the Grand Ballroom for dinner. We had great seats and listened to The Andy Childs Band while we ate dinner, which was wonderful! Afterwards, Eddie Money performed, and we had a blast listening to him!

January 2nd was the game! We rode the bus with the athletic committee to the stadium and went to a pre-game barbeque, where we met up with Gail and Brenton!

Before the game... not too frozen yet.
Frozen now! This was near the end of the game.
Shawna and Natalie had seats higher up, but when the weaker fans around us left because of the cold, they came down to join us! :)
